Hi Bill,
Thanks for comments. Looks like I could have a LAN problem due to trying to run XP and 7 machines on the same network.

Peter,
Running DM780, VAC and connected to PowerSDR 2.2.50 running Win7 64 bit 6GB RAM on an I3 processor.  Works just fine over my LAN.

The radio is an ANAN-10/Hermes using a static IP.  I do have drop outs, but the issue is in the radio, not the network, but the first thing you see is PowerSDR locking up.  Then you cannot ping the radio.  The Physical LAN connection is still good and the FPGA status light flashes normally, just unable to get anything into or out of the radio.

All loads and runs without any issues after removing much of the pre-installed bloatware - hurray!! VAC works ok with the computer in Testsigning mode so that the driver loads. No problem with vspmanager, or with loading HRD.

>Any thoughts anyone? If HRD is not a runner on Win7 64bit - what works for you? I just love the Alice in Wonderland world of Windows!!
