[hpsdr] VS2010 vs VS2012, also please avoid 'Surface' tablets

Dear Berndt,
OK on FFTW compiling for ARM. I'd have to create a build for it on windows.
As far as libusb0, that's the problem: it's libusb0 (ZERO) and NOT libusb1. On windows, it's a device driver.

WinRT and device drivers begs a whole lot of questions. I'm not convinced that WinRT will be more accepted than Vista was, and if that's the case, hardly worth the effort!

The current software will run fine on the x86 and x64 versions of Windows 8. At this point, it hardly seems worth the effort to build for WinRT and the Surface tablets, given the considerable rejection of Microsoft's hardware efforts, especially cell phones, in the recent past. Just look where Nokia has gotten to since dropping Symbian for Windows Phone 7/7.5/maybe 8!

G'day George,

many thanks for the information. Yes, I too was wondering why VS2012
wasn't the choice for this project.

Personally, I would prefer seeing more support for cross platform
development. ghpsdr and cuSDR are shining examples. I've both running on
Ubuntu 12.04LTS

I've built ghpsdr and ghpsdr3 on Raspberry Pi (pisces 3.2.27), which
uses an ARM processor. Both fftw3f and libusb1.0 built fine.
