Dale, 

1) Very good.  Sounds like you’re doing okay.  Yes, it doesn’t matter which two slots on Atlas you use as long as the target board (Mercury in this case) is adjacent to Ozy and the target board (Mercury) is between Ozy and the power connector on Atlas.  Also, the “last JTAG” jumper must be in place on the target board (remove that jumper after loading the firmware).

2) If you need help sorting out the path to programmer v12.1 we can communicate via direct email and I’ll help you sort that out.
