[hpsdr] cuSDR on 12v CarPuter

Thanks for responding Ken. The problem was due to my trying to run cuSDR
over a Remote Desktop connection. When I connected it directly to a monitor
mouse & keyboard and the error went away.

I run both the computer and the Hermes off an Alinco DM-330MV 32amp
switching power supply set at 13.8 volts and they are both very happy with
that solution. I haven't tried to reduce the voltage to find the point the
Hermes balks. The idea behind the Carputer was to isolate the Hermes to a
system that wasn't my main desktop and let it run multiple receivers on
different bands all the while spotting and uploading spots to different
collectors. The Hermes / Carputer is also great alternative to hauling the
Flex / Desktop computer out to Fieldday type events. The two combined take
up less than 1/2 the space of the desktop alone. In addition, the Carputer
has two ether net connections such that the Hermes plugs directly into one
of the network plugs on the Carputer and the other goes to the network.
Network bandwidth gets 0 impact.

Your Motherboard vendor may also be a good source of the most modern
drivers.

You may find that one of the OpenGL utilities will tell you more about your
current configuration capabilities. I like to use GLview 4.1 from
http://www.realtech-vr.com/glview/

Have you tested your SDR Transceiver on 12 or lower voltage to be sure it
will operate properly in that environment? you may need to look into Battery
Voltage boosters that are available to regulate your supply voltage at 13.8
or 14.1vdc.
