[hpsdr] Database reset = loss of calibration data?

Hello Brian, and thanks for the explanation. I'm no sort of engineer at all
and would position myself as just one level up from being a button pusher,
and hence rather likely to make the kind of false assumption you describe.
But speaking purely for myself, I think I would be more likely to make that
false assumption if my database were removed automatically without my
knowing about it, then I really would wonder just what was going on.

 

Perhaps SDR in general and HPSDR in particular isn't suitable for complete
novices, and if so then the design team may quite reasonably assume that
their adherents can cope with the removal and rebuilding of the database in
question. Although in my experience they all seem very prepared to hand hold
where necessary.
