Frank, sorry I forgot to mention that a tracking preselector can be
certainly controlled via the (virtual) CAT interface.

Hi Frank,

 

Using the open collector ports, you currently can define 11 filters (BPF,
LPF, HBF or combinations of them) in the HF range, i.e one filter for each
ham band. Is that not enough?

Hi all,

Not to give you hard working software guys more work and I really think you
guys are great.

I have a number of different preselectors. Some serial and some parallel. It
would be very cool to have a programmable user interface to control some of
this stuff. Summer is coming with high static and it would be nice to have a
tracking preselector on the receiver front end so local broadband noise
doesn't saturate the A/D. I presently use switches for control. I'm sure we
could never afford to build some of these cool mil preselectors. Harris,
Cubic, Racal and Collins made some nice ones. I was lucky to get a couple
optional preselector modules for the R3150.
