Hi Helmut,
Understood, its certainly possible to get such designs certified ( I have done that before in Australia). Even if we need to go to a commercial, certified, manufacture, and forgo home-brew, the benefits of such a design are substantial.

Thanks Phil. You are absolutely right: direct-off-the-mains PWM should be the consequent goal, but I’m a bit reluctant to suggest such circuits for home-brewers as all designs have to comply with UL, EN etc. One can get very easy liable for damages.

Thanks again for pressing all the PWM code into the crowded FPGA of Hermes.
