Hi Berndt,
One system is Kubuntu 14.04 - model name : Pentium(R) Dual-Core
CPU E5700 @ 3.00GHz
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 4 Series Chipset
Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)

The other is Zotac MaG mini PC - Atom N330 1.6GHz 1GB, Kubuntu 14.04
with the nouveau driver.

The segmentation fault happens as soon as I click on HpSdr.

I get the same error with the one built from source on the Kubuntu boxes
- "in_buffer" did the trick.

Possibly the nouveau driver?

Exactly the same segfault on openSUSE x86_64 on AMD 8-core 16GB memory,
GeForce 8600 GT and nouveau driver.
73 ... Sid.
