Hi Steve,
there is a hidden command line token "-datapath" for PowerSDR as well.
Bill and I tried to document it in the Users Guide that was last updated
in June of 2013.

Hi Dave,

I might be of some help in getting multiple versions of PowerSDR setup
for you. The newer versions of PowerSDR places its database at a common
location. The older versions did use the same directory as the
application to save the database.

You only need one folder with PowerSDR in it pointed to separate folders
that contains the individual databases.

I'll add a couple of screen shots that might help me explain how to set
this up. You will need to create a desktop shortcut for each of the
radios you wish to setup. My example will use the version created by the
installer release of PowerSDR.

Go to the Properties of the shortcut.

At the end of the Target you can add the new directory path using the
command line argument –datapath:<”directory path”>

To create a new directory for the ANAN-10 radio I use the name PowerSDR
ANAN_10 like this:

-datapath:"%appdata%\FlexRadio Systems\PowerSDR ANAN_10\"

My new Target will look like this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenHPSDR\PowerSDR RX2 (W5WC)\PowerSDR.exe"
-datapath:"%appdata%\FlexRadio Systems\PowerSDR ANAN_10\"

When you start PowerSDR using the modified shortcut you will receive
this message the first time.

Ensure the directory path is correct. The click on Yes.

You will then get the normal startup with a new wisdom file and database
created in the new folder.

I will get with Ken, N9VV to see if he will add this to the user guide.
I’ll run him through it and maybe it will be easier to follow.

Please keep in mind that your XP directory structure is different but
the use of the environment variable “%appdata%”, points to the same root
directory for both XP and 7.

73,

Doug
