Your described configuration doesn’t seem to be a problem as far as I can see.  Go for it.  

The great thing about HPSDR, in my view, is that the possibilities and versatility of the hardware/firmware/software are such that you can successfully configure things however you wish for widely different applications/desires of the many different users.
