[hpsdr] Audio distortions during zoom/pan panadapter

Hi,

I also can confirm Bert's observation. The issue happens here sporadically
with different HPSDR hardware and using P*SDR mRX PS v.3.3.6 on win7 AND
win10 machines. Closing P*SDR and restarting solves the problem in my case.
Perhaps this report helps.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for testing and confirming my observations.
Yes, it's weird and, for now, nobody seems to know exactly what could cause
this problem and why DPS latency checker helps.

I could understand this happening when you use a PC with limited CPU power
that runs out of free availably processing cycles.
But it happens on a PC with lots of CPU power where I almost don't see any
CPU usage when I look at the CPU cores usage graphics.
I also did try if there is maybe difference between W7 32 bit and 64 bit,
but exactly same problem.

And there is also still the problem with CTUNE that seems to mesh-up my
(frequency) database.

But I will not make too much 'noise' about it, I know it's 'freeware' and
I'm very happy with the overall performance.
(I also run "a other very expensive SDR" that has much less performance and
more bug's...)

Hi Bert,

I have exactly the same problem with distortion as you when zooming. I
thought it was a feature!

Also I can report that the distortions go away when I run DPC latency
checker as you did!

Weird, what could be the difference when DPC is running??

I also have another distortion problem on the audio from time to time, which
looks like dropped packets to the pc, but not sure how to

debug, not sure if this is related to zooming but DPC does not fix it.
