Thetis is synonymous with the new Ethernet protocol and does not presently support DFC.

Is Thetis synonymous with DFC or will the initial release of Thetis (running on existing OpenHPSDR hardware plus gigabit ethernet) lack DFC?

Thanks,

With all due respect to Jetson, linux and everything else, I suspect because the preponderance of code, i.e. Thetis, is Windows based, the first fully capable implementation (e.g. all the bells and whistles that we are currently enjoying) of Phil's DFC hardware will be with the DFC card and an NVIDIA GPU in a PC under a variant of Thetis.

Ultimately it would be really nice if Thetis was split into client and server sides. This is becoming increasing possible because much of the code that is involved in actually running the radio has been divorced from the GUI and now resides in channelmaster.dll. Unfortunately not all of the code, yet. I would be *very* happy to run a small Windows PC as the radio engine/server. Because of the CUDA processing, it would likely not take much of a PC, particularly if all of the FFTs were done in CUDA.

That's all very forward looking, though. First there needs to be Thetis and the new firmware. Then there needs to be new hardware. Then there needs to be even newer software and, well, what do you call GPU code, anyway? GPUware? DSPware? Flabware? ;-)

First, be aware that the original push of this project is a daughter card attached to a Jetson:
    https://developer.nvidia.com/embedded-computing

Last I checked this is a sub $200 card.  Not sure what the daughter card will end up costing.
But these 2 paired together are an entry level transceiver.  Run Thetis on whatever box you have
    and your ready to go.

The concept of running the code on a desktop with larger CUDA engines is an idea of mine and
    a few other nuts...

Other than it being fun to experiment with CUDA coding what additional features will I get? FPGA is $40 an NVIDIA is ..., and now I would need to carry a desktop computer with me if I want to go portable. As a base station to listen to all frequencies simultaniously it could be great, I would even buy one, but I would not give up my Hermes.
