This does not mean that Atlas-based system are worthless; far from it. To
me these facts mean only that perhaps it may be near the time to “freeze”
the Atlas-based system developement with respect to adding features that
require very high performance because the fundamental hardware design itself
is incapable of supporting them. My opinions may not be shared by everyone,
of course, and that’s perfectly okay.

Thanks Joe, and everyone involved with the HPSDR Project.

I perfectly understand the arguments put up to "move forward" with new
technology, the legacy systems not being up to the demands of new features
and facilities.

So far, I have found no reason to buy new hardware to implement new
features, which I may or may not desire. Those who do, good on them, it is
an exciting area of development in radio technology.

My "old" Atlas-based system provides all the features I require, so I don't
clamour for what I don't know, perhaps.

Would you please confirm that a bug in the system as it is, regarding the CW
transmit control, that I and others have raised over the past couple of
years is on the "To Do" list? This is the only annoyance with the operation
of the system now. Might this be corrected in the current PowerSDR software,
or perhaps in the new Thetis, eventually?

My HPSDR is used every day, usually on CW, and mostly for DX.

Luke VK3HJ
