By the way, be aware that, especially in later releases of the HPSDR programmer, Dave KV0S has implemented well-intentioned filename checking that is intended to keep users from loading incorrect firmware into their radios. Unfortunately many times this checking also prevents you sometimes from loading firmware that is in fact designed for the radio due to the programmer not recognizing that the filename is appropriate for your machine. In these cases you may simply rename your firmware file to “Metis.rbf”, to load the firmware anyway.

The filename checking feature is sometimes helpful and sometimes it simply prevents you from doing what you need to do. Perhaps having an option checkbox in the programmer to allow the user to bypass this filename checking feature if he chooses to do so would be a beneficial improvement?

Generally Dave’s programmers work nicely but as new protocols and many new firmware platforms are now out there with more complex filenaming for the firmware for them in use it is admittedly more difficult to write a single programmer to handle all cases for everyone in every situation. Thanks for the efforts Dave! These are likely to be temporary issues anyway.

I think it may be on the github repository if you wish to give it a try. But, in any case, any version of bootloader will work to load any firmware regardless of whether Protocol 1 or Protocol 2 is in the radio.

It also modifies the PHY Rx clock skew timing to (hopefully) allow use of the firmware on more ANAN-100D radios with less undesirable unit-specific behavior. The version also fixes the external PTT IN feature (pin 13 on the accessory jack of the ANAN-100D).
