[hpsdr] "FPGA Floor Planning"

Hi Joe,

Thanks to you (and George too) for helping me understand!
I guess my idea was pretty naive!
DFC, with its small FPGA footprint, is now looking better and better to me
:-)

Hi Bryan,

There are several ways that paid subscriptions could be paid for, of course.
I do appreciate your willingness to contribute but if we begin to utilize
paid subscriptions then others who might be willing to get their feet wet
with FPGA programming in the openHPSDR community would not have access to
those subscriptions so it hardly seems appropriate to have a select few to
have the paid tools in such a project. Further, as for me personally and I
believe Phil feels similarly, we really do not wish to embark on a new
career in FPGA programming, this is a hobby after all, and having others pay
for fancy tools for us would put an undue guilt trip on us if we wish to, or
at some point decide to, put less time in on this "hobby" project.

We have demonstrated that what needs to be done can in fact be done using
the free tools, albeit with some effort.

Hope that helps you understand better the situation. Thanks again though!
