[hpsdr] broken Hermes board

Right Glen,

If the FPGA is replaced, i.e. EEPROM is blank, you need JTAG to place the
Hermes_bootloader (pof.file) firstly. Then start the HPSDR bootloader
v.2.0.4.4, check Ethernet connectivity (test for bootloader), browse for
current Hermes_firmware v.3.1.rbf and program. Remove J12 and cycle Hermes.

All this stuff works with the 'old' protocol. Hermes firmware for the new
protocol (1Gb/s ethernet) is under development and not officially released.

Helmut,

It has been so long since I programmed a Hermes, that my memory is not 
clear.

 From what I remember, only the JTAG programmer is required if you have 
a brand new, blank
eeprom.  Else, I should not need the JTAG, just place a jumper(J12?).  
Since this was a working board
I am assuming the eeprom is programmed....
