If you persist on using Windoz 10 I suggest that you use the "Windows
Update Blocker" [Wub.zip] Direct link below. We use this at the Sun
City Computer Club [firstsuncity.com] on all of the PC's for obvious
reasons.

A better solution would be to revert back to Windoz 7 and turn off all
updates. I have been using a clean install of W7 since 2013 with only
two or three required updates to get IE to work when absolutely needed
[I never normally use IE11]. I also use win XP a lot because of the
keyboard & other shortcuts that were removed from XP because the wiz
kids at M$ did not understand what they did. Also many excellent,
older, programs do not run on 64bit systems.
I have not tried any of the Protocol 2 software as yet but all of the
current ,older, HPSDR software works on XP and Win 7 for my Hermes and
the newest Hermes-Lite2 Build9.
