I'd like to recommend a book I just finished-- The Women Who Smashed Codes by Jason Fagone.The story of Elizabeth Freidman and her husband William Freidman.Elizabeth was America's first female cryptanalyst. Both had a major role in decoding messages before up thru WW II.

How Claude Shannon Invented the Information Age”
I started the read and it is an important biography about a little known geniusof the 20th century, whose work affects nearly everything we do today.
