[hpsdr] Lurkers and volunteers: What in heaven's name happened to good old Proto!

Folks and Lurkers!

I have not heard ONE word on 'Good Old Proto' (Proteus) mentioned initially
by Phil Covington. Any of you guys with all the wonderful PCB tools
(preferably not current project leaders who are busy with other HPSDR
tasks!). Proto COULD just spur development in many other areas and would
make a great 'dead bug' platform to neaten up Bill's - KD5TFD's efforts! No
telling what that guy could do with a breadboard mounted on the buss!
(smile)

What do we need on this board? Obviously regulators and rails for all
voltages! Can it be a 2 layer board? Should it be the largest official form
factor? How about external power pins so the board can be stand alone? LED's
and other blinkeys? USB and other outside world connectors? Small
standoff's or 'snap off/on' for generic smaller more complex daughter
cards? Stacking pins across the 'inside world' edge for stacking more than
one proteus?

Can this "High Power' group define the 'ultimate' in protoplasm boards.

Let's get a brainstorm goin' in any event. Let's develop a list of 'wants
and needs' just for the fun of it, even if no one can design it! Looks like
we have a window of opportunity here between projects coming to manufacture,
and going into design! This should be a pretty simple quick turn project!

The Pot Stir - Project(s) coordinator.
