Hi All,
  I asked a friend in the biz about building boards. He said the big cost ($100) is for the solder paste silk screen. The rest of the operation is pretty cheap. The silk screen is a one time thing so ig you build $400 boards that is under a buck each. Testing is another issue. Then there is inspection.  frank
  PS $500 is a lot of money for me also if there is a vote.
