Where I was going here is that if the pc-oriented software is reasonably platform independent
it could be ported to, say, a processing board on the Atlas bus (Sasquatch?) and
would allow stand-alone operation or interaction with other nodes on a network.

I'm sorry if this is way behind the curve.  I've been lurking on this listserv
and appreciate that most of the active participants are professional-level
hardware and software engineers - but just felt compelled to comment because I also
am following GNU Radio pretty closely and have found that many in the ham community
seems to gravitate to the MS-based development tools and I happen to be most
comfortable and partial to some of the other options.

Can't wait to get some boards to play with, at any rate.
