Hi Phil,

I am using the i-Lotus timing receiver interfaced to the Parallax Propeller (underneath 
the GPS receiver).
The i-Lotus is much more recommendable because it is optimized for timing purposes and it 
is about 40 USD cheaper than the Garmin stuff.
The accuracy of the i-Lotus (formerly Motorola Oncore timing receiver) is legendary.
