[hpsdr] Gibraltar?????

Hi Horst,

I think that enthusiasm is still high amongst the developers we are simply
lacking volunteers to do some of the work e.g. PCB layout and PowerSDR/DttSP
programming. We have a prototype Penelope working and will shortly be
moving to Alpha2 of the PCB. We have at least two prototype Mercury
receivers running both of which are being used as main receivers with
excellent results. 'Alex' is nearing completion of the specification stage
and will be open for public comment shortly.

Ramakrishnan is about to start work on using Ozy to emulate a USB Blaster so
we can program other boards via the Atlas bus using JTAG. I'm busy writing a
book on DSP and SDR for the RSGB.

There are even more exciting things in the development phase but we want to
clear some of the current projects before adding them to the list.

It's possible there is a simpler solution to Gibraltar now there are timing
GPS receivers available that can provide a 10MHz locked output. Again we
need someone to test one of these to see if it is a suitable solution.

So in summary developer excitement - high, volunteer support - low!
