Welcome!   More designer types always welcomed!

A thought on CPLD vs I2c vs SPI.... I'd like to see a CPLD so the 
board can decode the C&C data that will be streaming on the Atlas 
bus.  One of the bits of data in that stream will be the current 
frequency of interest -- this would allow the board to select the 
appropriate filter bank based on the current frequency vs. some 
upstream piece of hardware/software having to know what the 
characteristics of the filters on the board are.  This would also 
make it easier from the upstream hardware/software point of view if 
we ended up having multiple editions of this board in the input path 
to support SWL listening etc.

As much as we can make the hardware smart and not need explicit 
software support the better in my mind (I will admit to being a bit 
biased in this regard!)
