Here in UK I have only ever been charged VAT on items over a certain
value *PLUS* Parcel Force charge £8 for administering the deal. So,
for instance, Mercury arrived about a week ago with a quoted value of
$329 which converted to approx £232.80. The VAT rate in UK is
currently 15% (down from 17.5% in an attempt to combat the credit
crunch!) so the VAT was £32.92 plus £8 Parcel Force administration
charge = £42.92

BTW Parcel Force would deliver on a Saturday for an additional £12!!!!!!

Don't know if that was what you were looking for?
