[hpsdr] OK you smart guys

Hi Francis,

I have interest in both ideas you mention below, but I need to build the 
boards first, as I'm perhaps a bit too frugal.   I  think I posted on 
this topic very soon after I joined this list.  Back then the idea was 
to use the SDR-1000 hardware.  Being frugal, back then I was planning on 
building my own SDR-1000, but then as I began understanding the HPSDR 
line-up, I decided that was a better way to go. 

Paul, N2PK, added the network analyzer capability to the softrock line 
of TXRX units.  It wasn't difficult.  I think the HPSDR lineup should 
make an even higher quality analyzer and of course for a wider range of 
frequencies.  And Phil has shown that the QS1R (and the Mercury should 
work as well) could be used as kind of a digital oscilloscope as well, 
though the input isn't high Z, and I suspect the FPGA code would have to 
be modified significantly.
