[hpsdr] How do you switch power to Atlas

Mark,

The PicoPSU comes with the coaxial power connector with an inline
plug/socket. From there the two wires (White +V, black ground) go to
two soldered connections to the side of the PicoPSU unit. It may be
possible to disconnect the two wires at the unit and replace with
something of your choosing. In my case, I changed things at the other
end and snipped off the coaxial power connector. I don't think it's
practical to use larger gauge wire to feed the PicoPSU--there are no
solder tabs as such. My assumption is that the supplied wire gauge is
sufficient for the current drawn by the unit in normal use.

On the front (back?) of Pandora I drilled holes for a pair of binding
posts. These are now mounted in Pandora and feed the PicoPSU. Today
I'll also connect the two wires to supply power to Penywhistle and also
will power the fan mounted in Pandora. The binding posts I used are
rated for 30 amps (DigiKey items) in the event I replace Pennywhistle
with a higher power PA such as Munin later. In order to mount them I
had to drill to 1/2" holes. The alternative was to create a larger
rectangular opening to suit the Powerpole receptacle I saw advertised.

I'll take some pics and send later, if you like.
