[hpsdr] Problem with Dropouts running PowerSDR

I wonder sometimes if I am still experiencing the same performance with my
HPSDR, with occasional dropouts, latency, etc., or have become used to it
and don't notice it anymore.

My system is:
Magister, Mercury, Penelope.
Intel i5 quad core CPU.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
PowerSDR 1.19.3.4.

I operated all evening on 160m SSB on Saturday night in the Trans-Tasman
Contest, and the rig performed beautifully. Only when adjacent signals were
dirty and wide did I have any trouble (some old-fashioned superhet rigs,
and one Flex with a soundcard problem).
The only issue I had was a sudden, inadvertent QSY when I had the wrong
window in focus when making a log entry in the contest logger. I had a fair
pileup lined up at the time, and I had no idea where I was before the QSY!
I did not notice any dropouts at all that evening, but yesterday I did
notice a few pops.
The CW latency is still noticeable, but I have just got used to it and it
does not cause me any further problems, even when I operate another
analogue rig, and come back to the digital rig. Latency does make the Tx
monitor function unusable (for me) on phone.
Only very rarely do I notice any dropouts now, and it does not cause me any
issues.

Has the subject or the observer changed?
