[hpsdr] diversity with Metis 1.1

Hi Wully,

I have been out of town for the past week without internet access so
have not had an opportunity to work with you on your problem. Thanks
to everyone who has helped. Maybe I can help too with sorting out
your diversity problem.

1) You should be using Metis v1.1 in your Metis board.

2) You should be using Mercury v6.4 for diversity operation, not
v6.3, although this is not likely to be the cause of your reported
Mercury 2 problem. The difference between 6.4 and 6.3 has to do
mostly with how the Mercury firmware version numbers and ADC overload
signals are handled but the IQ data stream is handled the same for both.

3) You should be using PowerSDR v1.19.3.3.diversity19 for diversity
operation.

4) You are correct that Mercury-EU uses different pins than does
Mercury-TAPR. The fact that your system runs diversity okay with Ozy
indicates to me that you have handled the different pin out
configuration of Mercury-EU firmware properly.

5) What version numbers are being reported by PowerSDR
v1.19.3.3.diversity19 in the Setup > HPSDR > Firmware version window
for Metis/Ozy , and Mercury?

The version numbers should show as

Metis 1.1 (when using Metis)
Ozy 6.3 (when using Ozy)
Mercury 1: 6.4
Mercury 2: 6.4

by the way, the lastest Penelope code is v1.3 (not 1.2) but that's not
causing your Mercury 2 problem, of course.

Please verify that the above version numbers are in fact being
reported by PSDR. Sometimes, I have noticed, HPSDRProgrammer will
report successful updating of the Metis (or Mercury) firmware when
actually it hasn't updated anything at all.

If Metis has not actually been updated to v1.1 things won't work for
Mercury 2 (which is what you are reporting as happening) but it would
work okay for Ozy operations; please check the PSDR window to see
what version is actually contained in your Metis and other boards,
even if the display and reception for Mercury 2 is messed up.

I may not be able to get back with you on this problem until this
evening but I will be looking for your reply. Good luck!
