Again, I think that the incorporation in HPSDRProgrammer of two separate "modes" that look remarkably alike is confusing.  I'm not saying that my solution is the only one with Flynn, but it certainly is one that works.  I think it needs to be much clearer that the two main tabs are two different modes that cause things to behave totally differently.  What might work even better, but would require some work, is to have HPSDRProgrammer automatically send out discovery packets and see if anyone is out there to talk to in normal mode.  If there isn't, it can send out an "MAC Address" request using the bootloader protocol to see if a board is sitting out there with the jumper set.

While I've read your docs and I don't think they're badly written, you're assuming they're going to get read at all.  If the program can be made clearer and/or smarter, that's going to solve a lot of issues I think.  I may be convinced to swallow my distaste of Qt long enough to do some redesign if I get some time if not just to make things a lot easier for folks.
