To all, it seems support for different boards produced by different mfg process will lead to a nightmare support.
Everyone in this project is a volunteer and lending support multiple vendors would put huge demands on them if issues arise.

>My observation after visiting TAPR’s website is that probably Hermes is going to be the most expansive product

>I appreciate when he says that Hermes is a product of meeting of the minds from global genius and it can’t be termed locally.

>He is right but TAPR being the US based non-profit organisation should change its policy in such a way that foreigners should
>Also be at par when shelling out hard earned money. US hams would get the outcome of global genius at a different price but others would be paying approx. 40% extra. This is even more important because it is not a cheap kit. Scotty mentioned $900.

>Labour charges are much more in US and that’s why it make even more sense in making it outside where production cost is much less. I don’t agree with Jeremy when he says “I don't think I (as a board member) would be in favour of TAPR manufacturing boards in every different country just so that those country's citizens could save a few bucks” It’s not few bucks but approximately 40% of quoted price and that comes to $400 for the board alone and if someone buys the amp and LPF and cabinet from US this few bucks figure would go up to 600-700 USD. It’s not just another TAPR project costing 100-150 USD where one has to shell 40-50 USD extra and that’s within the reach of many to afford that.

>TAPR board should devise a method that serves the whole community at large not alone in USA.

>In my opinion if production is done in India not only cost may be less and quality at the global standard. It's not the same India world knows from the memories of yesteryears.
>
>Surely production units are here for such work and surely it can be produced in India.

>Please look on it with a open mind and heart and excuse me if I have written something that was inappropriate.
