Hi Mike, 

You may use either RX1 or RX2 versions of PowerSDR with Hermes, your choice.  

The features of the two programs are similar except that RX2 supports dual receiver operation as an option.  

Your original thought is correct.  If you wish to use a single receiver in the RX2 PowerSDR you simply disable the second receiver in the RX2 program by de-selecting the RX2 button on the front panel of the display.  

There are no significant pros/cons between the two except that RX2 allows for dual-receiver operation.
