All,

Angelia_v1.6 firmware is available for download from

http://k5so.com/HPSDR_downloads.html

This version re-assigns receiver/ADC modules such that Rx1, Rx3, Rx4, and Rx5 use ADC1 on the Angelia board and Rx2, Rx6, and Rx7 use ADC2.

The change is a work-around solution for PowerSDR mRX (Note: a new PowerSDR mRX version will be released by Doug W5WC shortly to work with this change) to cure a distorted audio problem when running mRX PSDR at 384ksps sampling rate. The source of the distortion is that 100T ethernet bandwidth limitations are exceeded when running five receivers at 384ksps sampling rate.

This re-arrangement of rcvrs/ADCs permits four receivers (Rx1, Rx3, Rx4 “stitched” together and Rx2 independently) to be active at 384ksps sampling rate, thus remaining within the bandwidth limitations of 100T ethernet connections.

When Gigabit ethernet comm becomes implemented the “work-around” receiver/ADC assignments of this firmware can be returned to the original configuration of odd receiver numbers being assigned to ADC1 and even receiver numbers being assigned to ADC2 in a later firmware version.

For ANAN-100D users, this new rcvr/ADC re-assignment will place Rx1, Rx3, Rx4, and Rx5 on the normal antenna connections on the rear panel of ANAN-100D chassis (i.e., Ant1, Ant2, Ant3, xvrtr, etc. depending on what options you have selected in PowerSDR) whereas Rx2, Rx6, and Rx7 will always use the “RX2” antenna connection on the rear panel for input.
