Session text follows
18:51:13> *** You are now talking in channel: "OpenHPSDR"
21:08:41> "Greg ZL3IX": Rick, what antennas are you going to use
at the remote?
21:09:54> "Rick - VE3MM": I am considering an eight circle or
the new Array Solutions rx antenna
21:10:47> "Greg ZL3IX": Great should work well
21:11:28> "Greg ZL3IX": Are you bringing the signal back home
via a radio link or via public Internet?
21:11:38> "Rick - VE3MM": Greg How is your winter 160 dx shaping up?
21:12:40> "Greg ZL3IX": Activity is always lower than in the
summer, as most of the rest of the world has their summer!
21:14:00> "Rick - VE3MM": Well, this summer I am keeping my 160m
inv L up and hoping to work some summer dx. Maybe we can link
up again.
21:14:50> "Greg ZL3IX": Right. Did you see the question at
13:11:21?
21:16:23> "Rick - VE3MM": data path is public Internet
21:17:06> "Greg ZL3IX": OK. I didn't get that to work. My
gateways couldn't handle packets arriving out of order etc. I
resorted to UHF FM in the end
21:17:23> "Bill - KD5TFD": do you know what your ping times are
typically for that link .. think that will set a floor on how
good you can get the latency
21:18:45> "Rick - VE3MM": ghpsdr3-alex with QTradio is working
fine with very few dropouts. It is a good setup except for the
latency I am experiencing. Bill I will check the ping time
21:20:00> "Andy - KF5JLJ": Sorry, listening. Wife asleep on the
couch, don't want to wake her with my rambling.
