Your English is fine, Mati; no problem. Congratulations on thinking of putting together an Atlas-based HPSDR system.

In addition to the Atlas bus, Mercury board, and Alex RX filter you will need a board to communicate with your computer; a Metis (ethernet) board or an Ozy (USB) or a Magister (USB); only one of those three computer comm boards, not all three.

I recommend Metis, personally, as the ethernet connection is much superior to the USB methods, especially for high data rates that are necessary for wide bandwidths, but Ozy or Magister will work if you decide to use one of them instead.

Also, if you use only the Alex RX filter you will have only high pass filtering on your receiver. If you wish to have bandpass filtering you will also need to use the Alex TX filter with the Alex RX filter. The Alex TX filter board provides low pass filtering. Together the Alex RX and Alex TX provide bandpass filtering.

Of course, you can run simply a Mercury receiver and a Metis (or Ozy or Magister) on your Atlas bus to have a functional RX radio, without any Alex filters at all, if you wish to try that configuration first before purchasing Alex filter boards.

The Alex filters are excellent filter boards and certainly enhance the operations, especially if you are in a location with large out-of-band signals present. I use both TX and RX Alex filters here and find them to be extremely useful to keep from overloading the Mercury receiver when large out-of-band signals are present.

Good luck!

I Have a friend that will be going to USA the next month, so he can bring it to me in his briefcase.
