Hi,

Using --hermes instead of --metis does indeed cure the deafness, thanx!

So for the record, at this point all 4 programs are working:
ghpsdr
ghpsdr3
ghpsdr3-Qt
ghpsdr3-alex

Note that I had to make minor changes to get several of them to compile under Ubuntu 14.04.1 (trusty).  Mostly issues
of header file locations being moved since the last distro.
