So we are not 'type approved', so it is likely that this regulation is not applicable to
us.  There are a number of more onerous parts to the proposal that you have not mentioned.
They relate to 'computer device driver upgrades' (changes) for things that might talk to a
wifi device, that could have the effect of locking down YOUR computer, or some have
suggested that it would make it impossible to use Linux.  I'm not sure if the last is just
a bit too conspiratorial or not.

In any event, at DCC, we learned that the ARRL was making definite filings to oppose parts
of this proposal, as had Bruce Perens.
