[hpsdr] Signal level discrepancy RA Utility / Multimeter

Gents,
It sounds then that there is more to the s-meter calculation than simple
average or peak magnitude within the filter passband? (and offsets for
engaged attenuators)

No detailed explanations expected - if there is indeed more to it I can
investigate the sources to satisfy my curiosity.
