[hpsdr] PiHPSDR on RPi3 running Ubuntu Mate

Hi John,

I remember some time ago I did program the IP in the ATLAS to be at 192.168.7.135. The Router is set for DHCP so the ATLAS is requesting the 192.168.7.135 address. The Hermes is just asking for an address.

Your detailed listing showing the activity on both old and new protocol is useful and will show anyone working on this type of issue what they should expect to see. Thanks again for dong this.
I am seeing the same 60 bytes of reply to the broadcast packet from the pihpsdr coming back from both Atlas and the Hermes.

Hi Bob,

I had not tried Ubuntu Mate on a RPi3 before so I built a system up today to test.

I had no problems discovering any HPSDR devices on the network as you can see from the debug output below.

Can you describe how the network is setup? Are you using static IP address or DHCP?

The advantage of sending the discovery to 255.255.255.255 is that it should receive back discovery response packets from any devices on the network even if they are not on the same subnet. The software can then flag that up when it display the list of devices and not allow the user to start the device rather than simply not seeing it at all.
